Speech on Republic Day in 200 Words

Good morning everyone,

I take pride and reflect as an Indian citizen as today marks the 75th Republic Day. On this day in 1950, India was deemed a democratic, sovereign socialist secular republic after our constitution had come into force. The constitution guarantees every Indian citizen basic and inalienable rights that include primarily justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.

Today is also a day of remembrance and admiration, a day where we remember our leaders who paved the way for independence and freedom for us. It’s only right to pay tribute to them, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru for in essence all of them fought and sacrificed their lives to establish a fair and just nation. Hence we as their followers have certain responsibilities, one of them being to adhere to the values our constitution upholds so that we shall continue the fight our leaders embarked on together as one nation in pursuit of growth and unity.

Let us recall that it is within us that we will shape the future of the people of this nation. Let’s work as hard as we can to be responsible citizens, who will assist in the promotion of education, technological advancement and the well-being of the society in India.

Victory to India! Victory to the Indian state!
